Baby Bubbles’ Nursery: Before

About a month ago, a ton of gals I know who are also due in March started posting photos of these beautiful nurseries. They are all freshly painted with furniture put together and in place. This was officially my cue to swing into full-on, nursery anxiety mode because here are the nursery before pictures:

Baby Bubbles' Nursery: Before

As you can see we’re being super original and painting the walls white. In all fairness, most of our home is painted grey, so this is a nice change.

So J and I have finally started getting our act together in terms of this nursery. Last weekend J began painting, although this is not yet complete as he got side tracked with a little upper respiratory virus.

As you saw in this post, our plan is to put together a simple, clean, fresh space with fun pops of color in the accessories we choose. Here is our to-do list:

Purchase furniture

Replace the broken window

Replace the door and it’s frame

Spackle and Paint (almost there!)

Baseboards

Build in the closet with cube storage and a counter for the changing pad

Purchase bedding

Purchase and hang art

Make boxes for the bookshelves

Make and hang an abacus

Purchase a pouf or ottoman

Put together a finish dresser

Put together and finish ikea shelves

Put together all other furniture

Purchase additional room accessories

Clearly, we have a lot to do. I won’t lie, I’m having a little bit of anxiety over the whole thing, especially since J won’t allow me to paint or really do too much of the work. He is still a bit under the weather so we’ll see how much we’re able to get accomplished this weekend. I think we’re definitely being a bit ambitious but I have high hopes for a nice room for our sweet gal before she arrives.

Ok, your turn: what have you been procrastinating on lately?

January 22, 2016 at 11:46 am I like the white walls in a nursery. It really brightens things up. Looks like you are making good progress!

January 23, 2016 at 12:15 pm Me too- I really need to start branching out from the grey. I told J I wanted to do our bedroom in that shade of white as well (it is currently the grey that is in that room) and he looked at me like I was nuts. Probably not the best time to add on to the honey-do list :)

January 22, 2016 at 12:08 pm Omg this post gave me anxiety. That's a lot to do! But I'm sure J will have no problem once he's back at 100%. Our nursery has a crib and a couple packs of newborn diapers so I feel like it's pretty much good to go. I'm procrastinating on pretty much everything right now, cleaning first and foremost, but I'm sick, and it's a snowday, so technically it's extra time the universe gave me to read blogs and watch Netflix. January 23, 2016 at 12:13 pm I'm sorry to share the anxiety with you! He's finishing painting and getting the baseboards done today. I'm sorry you're sick- it sounds like you've got things together pretty well though. Netflix and blogs is always a good idea (is that us bloggers version of Netflix and Chill?)

January 26, 2016 at 10:50 am It looks like you have quite a bit to do, but you have a list that should help you stay on track! Now that my boys are 3 and 5 it's time to change the theme into more of a big boy instead of the baby jungle animals they have now. That is the one major thing I have been procrastinating on, but it all fairness it's because I don't want my little boys growing up!
