DIY Washi Tape Covered Letter

Around Christmas time, I picked up a cardboard letter F (the first letter of our last name) on mega-sale. I then promptly forgot about it. Because life. And now, here we are 7 months later. J was cleaning out our spare room to convert into an office and he came across the letter. I think his initial plan was to toss it, but I was able to save the lovely letter and I knew the perfect was to show it some love.

I love projects that are cheap and easy. This is absolutely one of those projects. Everyone in the craft world seems to love Washi tape. I’m a late bloomer in that regard because I just discovered it. But I finally drank the Washi tape kool-aid and I haven’t looked back!

I started by wrapping the sides of the letter in Washi tape. I didn’t waste my time on the back since no one would see it. Once the sides were nicely covered, I wrapped the front of the letter. I was careful to match up the dots as much as possible, although you can’t tell the difference unless you’re up close examining it.

This was such a simple project and I think it looks really cute! The best part? It took all of 10 minutes. I’ll drink to that! The only downside is that the letter F won’t sand up on it’s own. Silly gravity. But go make one 🙂

July 31, 2015 at 10:25 pm Thank you- yeah, the downside of the letter I am working with is the fact that it won't stand up on its own. Gotta get creative! :)
