    Baby Bubbles Nursery: Phase 1

Feb 3, 2016 · Modified: Mar 2, 2018 by Jessy Freimann · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads ·

Well the nursery progress is underway, thank goodness. It won't look like much in the photos since I took them midway through his day. But J has been hard at work and has gotten the whole room painted, including the ceiling (we are really bad at painting and there were smudges of gray around the perimeter of the ceiling!), painted the walls and closet and attached the majority of the baseboards, painted and installed a new door and began installing the door frames. How's that for a run-on sentence?

The paint color really isn't as gray as it appears in this photo.

This coming weekend, J is planning on building in the closet. We have an idea of what we want but it's still kind of up in the air. He also needs to caulk and add quarter round to the baseboards. This week we're also going to try and get someone in to do the window (we had a guy but he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth, so back to the drawing board on that).

    That's a little better.

I am slowly picking up things we need and things we want to decorate the nursery. Most notably, I finally found some decals for a small section of Bubbles' wall, of which I'll share the details once we've moved forward a bit more.

Here is our to-do list as it stands:

    Purchase furniture

    Replace the broken window

Replace the door and it's frame (pretty much there)

    Spackle and Paint

    Baseboards (pretty much there)

Build in the closet with cube storage and a counter for the changing pad

    Purchase bedding

    Purchase and hang art

    Make boxes for the bookshelves

    Make and hang an abacus

    Purchase a pouf or ottoman

    Put together a finish dresser

Put together and finish ikea shelves

    Put together all other furniture

    Purchase additional room accessories

How long do room remodels usually take for you?

Oooo, so exciting! I've only ever rented, so my remodeling is very limited, but our home decor is constantly changing every few months! One of the joys or selling vintage furniture and housewares is that we often use an item, then sell it later when we find something new.

It's coming along! It feels so good to cross things off the to do list, doesn't it?
