We are chugging right along with A’s taste training!
This gal just loves to eat! A’s teachers at daycare all keep telling me they can’t believe what a great eater she is. One of them told me that A loves eating her cereal so much that when they were done, she was still hungry and got upset and cried until they brought her more. I totally get it, I get hangry too.
More and more, I notice A giving us the stare-down when we have food. She even licked her lips today while I was eating. It was too funny. My mom tells me that when my sister and I were babies we got to the point where we would cry because we would smell food because we wanted it.
This past week, we introduced Kale and Endive purees. A went crazy for the kale, she couldn’t seem to get enough. While she didn’t seem to mind the endive it clearly wasn’t her favorite. Kind of like zucchini. I’m wondering if it was a little more watery than she would have liked. I boiled the Endive instead of steaming it. I’ve heard that boiling makes certain flavors a bit more palatable. Still, she ate it without a problem, but also without as much enthusiasm as other purees.
This week we will be introducing Beet and Apple purees. I have no doubt that she will enjoy both of these. I also have some bananas that aren’t yet ripe. Once they’re ripe enough, I’ll add those into the mix; so either this week or next week. I’m excited to start introducing fruit!
