The magic of purees continues with another week down! This week was especially fun because we added some fruit into the mix as well as some puree mixes.
The weeks started with A's introduction to Beets. This was pretty messy which I was expecting and A loved them, which I was also expecting. J said that when he picked her up from daycare the next day, one of the teachers told him there was some "pretty interesting stuff" coming out of her. They went on to tell him that they were changing a poopy diaper and it was purple! They are pretty used to an ever changing rainbow of color as I've kept them in the loop about A's progress with purees. I think it was extra interesting to them this time because a lot of the other parents don't give their 6 month old babies Beet puree (I'm not sure why they don't- A was loving it!)
On Christmas day, I pureed some Banana for A. I know this would be a hit because her daddy LOVES anything involving bananas. I'm lukewarm about them and prefer them in banana bread, in an ice cream sundae or if I'm eating them alone, I like them green.
The day after Christmas was A's introduction to Apples. I went with Cortland apples, for no particular reason other than out of habit (they've always been my go-to pie apple for the rare occasion that I whip up an apple pie). Of course she loved them and gobbled up every last bite.
This past weekend seemed like a good time to start mixing some flavors. I went with a mix of items shes liked, loved and was lukewarm about and all went over just fine. The "liked" mix was Peas and Asparagus which she downed with no problems. The "loved" mix was kale and bananas and of course, she went crazy for it. As an experiment, I mixed Butternut Squash and Brussels Sprouts, both of which she'll eat with no problem, but they are clearly not her favorite. As expected, she still ate them all, though she was a bit less enthusiastic05. So far so good!
