Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving? Ours was busy but lovely! The day started with A waking up way earlier than planned. It’s funny how we have to wake her up on work days because she sleeps so late but when we don’t have to work, it’s 6am all the way (maybe not every time, but enough)!
We all woke up and ate breakfast and played a little. I finished getting my desserts together for the day which were the Orange Cranberry Torte, Rice Krispie Treat Turkey and Cherry Cheese Pie (I’ll post that amazing recipe in a few weeks!). A took an extra long nap and eventually woke up and enjoyed a light lunch and we headed to my Uncle’s house in the afternoon.
It took A some time to warm up to her new surrounds, but once she did she was more than happy to spend all day and night running around the house in the wobbly “drunk-girl” walk, hanging out with everyone and of course, eating. A was a big fan of cheese platter (savoring them all except for the Stilton- more for me!), the turkey and the cranberry sauce. She enjoyed other things too but I couldn’t believe how much of the aforementioned things she ate, especially the turkey. Of course the desserts were a huge hit with her too and we couldn’t have eaten them at a better time. Right before dessert, she began crashing a bit. Dessert helped to perk her up a little.
We left shortly thereafter, and not a moment too soon- A fell right to sleep in the car and slept straight through until morning (Mommy and Daddy weren’t far behind). I regret not getting more photos, but things were pretty crazy with our toddler running around and I forgot the memory card for my DSLR so I had to stick to cell phone photos. Either way it was an excellent day an we cannot wait until next year when Baby Bubbles is here to celebrate with us!
How was your Thanksgiving? Are you still in a food coma?
