Notes
Use precooked shrimp! Make your life easier and buy your shrimp precooked and peeled. That way you won't have the hassle of having to cook and chill the shrimp — you can just chop them up and throw this dip together in record time!
Don't forget to garnish. Grandma often left a few pieces of shrimp whole to garnish the top of the dip, and once in a while, she would hide a couple of pieces of whole shrimp inside the dips as well. It was always a sweet jackpot moment for whoever happened to scoop that up! Another option would be to hold a small amount of chopped shrimp and sprinkle that on top just before serving.
Be sure to taste test. The key to getting the perfect shrimp cream cheese dip is to taste it and adjust the seasonings to your taste. This is important with any savory recipe, but especially this one.
Don't skip chilling! This really helps bring the flavors together.
Prep ahead- You can prep the whole dip the day before or just chop the onion and the shrimp ahead.
Leftovers and storage- This will last a couple days covered in your refrigerator.
