Why You’ll Love This Parfait with Greek Yogurt

A good parfait checks all the boxes: creamy, crunchy, sweet, and filling. This version layers Greek yogurt, homemade granola or store-bought, and fresh fruit for a no-fuss dish you can enjoy morning, noon, or night. It feels a little indulgent while still being light, and the contrasting textures make every bite satisfying.

The best part? You can swap in whatever fruit is in season and adjust every layer to your taste. It’s a great way to use up apples, berries, or even peaches when summer is in full swing. I also love that these are easy to prep ahead for busy mornings... just keep the granola separate so it stays crunchy. And since every parfait is built individually, everyone can customize theirs with the toppings they love most. What’s to love about it:

    • Ready in just minutes
    • Works with any fruit or granola
    • Full of protein and natural sweetness
    • Great for breakfast, snack, or dessert

    Ingredient Information And Substitutions

    • Greek yogurt- Thick and creamy, it gives the parfait a rich base. Vanilla adds sweetness, while plain offers a tangier flavor. You can also use regular yogurt if you prefer.
    • Fruit- Brings natural sweetness and color. Apples add crunch (I love SnapDragon or RubyFrost), berries are juicy, and peaches or pears give a soft, sweet bite. Frozen fruit works too, just thaw and drain.
    • Granola- Adds the perfect crunch to balance the creamy layers. Use store-bought or try making your own. My cinnamon granola recipe is a great option!
    • Extras- Honey or maple syrup for sweetness, nut butter for richness, and a sprinkle of shredded coconut or seeds for extra texture.

    How To Make Yogurt Parfaits

Step 1- Start with the base.

Grab four 8-ounce glasses. Spoon a little granola into the bottom of each to create the first layer.

    Step 2- Add fruit.

Layer chopped apples over the granola, turning some pieces skin-side out along the glass so the color shows through.

    Step 3- Add yogurt.

Spoon yogurt on top of the apples. Use a small spatula or spoon to gently spread it into an even layer.

    Step 4- Repeat the layers.

Add another round of granola, then fruit, then yogurt. Continue layering until the glasses are full, finishing with yogurt on top.

    Step 5- Finish and garnish.

Smooth the top layer of yogurt, sprinkle with a little extra granola, and tuck in a couple of apple slices for garnish. Serve right away.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I serve these for dessert?

Definitely. Add a drizzle of honey, chocolate chips, or even crushed cookies on top, and it feels just like a light and refreshing dessert.

Can I make parfaits ahead of time?

You can but it ill effect the texture of the granola because it will soften in the fridge.

Tips For Making Yogurt And Granola Parfait

    • Show off those layers. Clear glasses or jars let the colorful fruit and creamy yogurt shine, or try layering them in stemmed glasses or wine goblets. They instantly look dressed up!
    • Alternate layers evenly, but don’t stress about exact measurements. You can eyeball the layers, and it’ll still come out great.
    • If you’re using apples or pears, toss them with a little lemon juice to keep them from browning, especially if prepping ahead.
    • Keep the granola crunchy by adding it right before serving instead of letting it sit in the fridge.
    • Change up the crunch. Cinnamon, coconut, or even chocolate granola all bring their own vibe to the parfait.
    • Play with flavors by swapping in seasonal fruit or different yogurt flavors like honey or lemon.
    • Make it fun for kids by setting up a parfait station and letting them build their own.
    • Ingredients to prep ahead- Wash and chop fruit ahead of time.
    • Leftovers and storage- These parfaits taste best right after they’ve been assembled.

What To Serve With Greek Yogurt Parfait

This parfait is light, refreshing, and versatile on its own, but it also fits beautifully into a bigger breakfast or brunch spread. For mornings, pair it with something warm and savory to balance the sweetness. As a snack, it can round out a small spread with muffins or a slice of quiche. Here are a few ideas:

    • Broccoli Cheddar Cheese Quiche
    • Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Muffins
    • Asparagus Leek Tart
    • California Breakfast Stack
